26 January 2017

In another significant milestone in the preparation of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, this week the Azerbaijan Islamic Solidarity Games Operations Committee (AISGOC) hosted members of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from 39 Islamic states.

Participants from the NOCs had the opportunity to learn more about the preparations, take part in competition venue tours and enjoy the hospitality for which Azerbaijan is renowned.

Dr. Chingiz Huseynzada, Vice President of Azerbaijan NOC and 2nd Vice-President of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation said:

"We were happy to have welcomed so many visitors to Baku in this momentous week for Baku 2017. We now have less than one year to go until the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and I am certain that the NOCs were delighted with the facilities on offer to their athletes and we are confident of putting on a successful event next year."

More than 70 delegates from 39 different countries took part in the event, including attendance at the official One Year to Go milestone reception.
